What to include

For calculator issues, the fastest path to a fix is: the page URL, the numbers you entered, the result you got, and the result you expected. For new calculator suggestions, tell us the job you were trying to estimate — the best tools on this site started as reader requests.

Before reporting a result as wrong

• Check the units — depth fields are in inches, lengths in feet, on every calculator (or switch the whole calculator to metric with the toggle).
• Densities vary by supplier and moisture; our figures are industry-standard averages.
• Waste factors are included where noted — your raw math may differ by that percentage.

One thing we can't help with: quoting or checking someone else's quote for your specific project. Our tools estimate materials; a local contractor who has seen your site conditions will always beat a web page.
